WHS Chorus goes Hi-Tech
May 14, 2009
Isn't this way cool? We all know that Mr. Mullinax isn't the most technically savy guy in the world, so we are really excited about being able to have access to some of the tools that are provided in this site. The site will enable students to stay on top of their daily assignments, allow the instructor to post messages to parents and students, and let us download videos of our concerts and pictures. Now, mom and dad we need your help... If you do take digital photos at our concerts or make digital video,, then please let us know, so we can share our joy of singing with the rest of the world. Even cooler,, there are links and information provided by In-Tune Magazine that connects us to the rest of the music world. It helps us realize that we are not isolated in our love of music, but that we are just a small part of a global community. It helps us realize and appreciate how music enriches our lives and helps us become better human beings.

I cant believe the summer is almost over and it is time for the students to return to school. As we embark upon another exciting school year, the Choral Booster organization needs your involvement to continue to enrich your students music education through physical and financial support. The agenda for Thursday's meeting will be determined by the current president. However, some of the topics that will be covered are as follows: Election of new officers, State of the organization, Financial report and setting some goals for the organization the coming year. I hope to see you there and looking forward to working with your student this year!

Copy and past the link above to access rehearsal tracks for the Vivaldi.. The accompaniment is on the organ and your part is played by the piano. There is also a light beat in the background to help you keep a steady beat, however you still much count! 1&2&3&4& -- happy note chasing! The following link is another site that includes the words but is much slower to download - http://www.sad60.k12.me.us/~lowell/NobleChorusPage/VivaldiProject.html

  NEW YORK - JUNE 2011
July 05, 2010
Start saving your money this summer because we are going to NYC. How exciting! WHS Concert Choir has received the invitation to perform, along with other singers from the Triangle and from across the US to perform Joseph Martin's "Song of Wisdom". The work is based on the childrens book "Old Turtle" by Douglas Wood. If you get a chance, check it out from the library or purchase your own copy from you local book store. The trip will cost around $1,000.00 per student including airfare, ground transportation, performance fees and hotel. We will stay 4 nights for rehearsals and the performance with free time to do some sight seeing or take in a broadway show or two. This is an expensive trip, but one you will remember for a life time. Not many people get the chance to perform and this prestigious concert venue. Start saving your money now, all singers will receive more details and payment schedule when we return in August.
